The Cranbrook Girls Bugle Band – World Show Band Marching Award

The Cranbrook All Girls' Bugle Band was formed in 1941 as part of the Canadian Women's Training Corps activities, but moved to sponsorship by the high school in 1944. Hundreds of girls from the ages of 12-18 years have passed through the ranks, wearing red & white uniforms. Current membership is 45 girls with 6 adults and one director.

The girls play valveless bugles, which went out of production in 1970. They have entertained in many large and small centres throughout the western provinces and northern states throughout the year, including Santa Claus Parades and winter carnivals; such as Whitefish, Montana’s for 30+ years. They have performed in the Calgary Stampede Parade and on the stampede grounds for 56 years.

The Cranbrook Girls Bugle Band has won numerous trophies, cash awards and acknowledgements for the crowd-pleasing marching & playing abilities.
